China's Smartphone Market Growth Stalls As Shipments Fall 4%

According to a study by Canalys, the Chinese smartphone market suffered a driblet in shipments, thanks to poor concern in the quaternary quarter of 2017.

A full of 459 million smartphone units were shipped in China last year. According to the written report, this four-percent turn down was due to 14 percent fall in year-on-yr sales of mobile phones in Q4 2017.

The report also notes that smaller smartphone vendors like Gionee, Meizu, etc. are nowhere to be seen. Canalys Research Analyst Hattie He said:

The threat to vendors such as Gionee and Meizu is now closer than ever. There is fiddling room left for the smaller vendors. We can expect a major market milk shake-up in China in 2018.
